Sandomierz Cathedral, Poland. 

The walls of the nave are lined with 12 massive paintings — one for each month of the year — of martyrs being gruesomely murdered by the Tartar hordes (Sandomierz suffered numerous attacks by Tartars). In the paintings, the Tartars wear turbans. Tiny black numbers identify the different ways to die at the hands of the infidels. You find the painting of your month and then your number and you’ll find out how you will die.
